When Hannibal came home that evening part of him expected you to be gone. That morning he had stormed out after a huge argument between the two of you.
But even now, he could not remember what had started it. So when he arrived back from visiting a client in their own home he was very glad to still see your car in the driveway.
‘(y/n)?’ he called as he entered the house.
‘I’m in here,’ you called from the kitchen. Hannibal could smell something delicious instantly and followed your voice into the kitchen.
There was a considerable amount of mess and it had taken a number of tries before you managed to get the recipe right for the meal.
In no way were you able to cook like Hannibal could, you could barely make a sandwich without screwing it up. You were currently stirring a pot on the stove that was filled with a mushroom white sauce and you were trying your hardest not to burn it.
‘What are you doing?’ Hannibal asked after observing for a moment.
‘I wanted to try and cook for you,’ you said, throwing him a smile over your shoulder before returning your attention to the pot.
‘And why do you feel the need to do that?’ He asked and you could hear the smile in his voice.
‘I feel bad about this morning, I wanted to make it up to you,’ you said quietly.
Hannibal was silent for a moment; he was still so unused to someone caring about his feelings that it still shocked him to have you around.
‘You know you don’t need to do that (y/n). It was as much my fault, if anything I should apologise, I’m the one who’s afraid of losing you after all,’ he admitted.
You turned to see only sadness on his face, the mushroom white sauce forgotten when you moved to stand in front of him.
‘You think I’m not afraid of losing you?’ you asked, looking up into his eyes. He looked away, unwilling to meet your eyes before he spoke.
‘I don’t see why you would be. Sometimes I can barely grasp that you choose to be here with me. Compared to your innocence I am monstrous. I’d never blame you if you left.’
You turned his chin so he had to look at you before you reached up and gently pressed a kiss to his lips.
‘I’m with you because I love you Hannibal,’ you breathed against his mouth. ‘You are not a monster to me.’
He smiled, genuinely comforted by your words and leaned down to capture your lips in a slightly deeper kiss.
‘Shall we continue cooking together?’
Hannibal went to try and rescue the meal and you opted for simply trying to tidy up all the mess you had made.
After a while you sat on the kitchen island sipping your wine and watching him.
You knew he was almost finished cooking so you quickly went and arranged the dining table, setting out and lighting the candles you’d found.
When he finally finished you tried to help him put out the food but he waved you away and carried the food to the dining table. You followed behind with the glasses of wine.
Hannibal was waiting for you and pulled the chair out for you to sit in.
‘Is there a reason for these?’ he asked gesturing to the candles. He had a small smile on his face as he sat down.
‘I was trying to be romantic, I wanted to make sure you know that I love you,’ you said shyly.
‘As long as you know that I love you also,’ he said with a smile and started to eat his food.
You both ate in silence for a while before Hannibal spoke again.
‘I wasn’t sure you’d be here when I came home,’ he admitted. You stopped eating and turned to face him.
‘Why?’
‘If feel like when we argue the worst in me comes out and I feared that you had seen that and would leave me,’ he said with a sad smile and a sip of his wine.
You’d both finished eating so you stood up and moved around the table to him. He watched you and moved his chair back, opening his arms and allowing you to sit in his lap bridal style. Hannibal’s arms wrapped around your waist tightly and you stared into his eyes.
‘No matter what happens I’m never going anywhere,’ you whisper.
‘Even with my habits?’ he asks uncertainly.
‘I love you, all of you.’
He pulls you to him and kisses your hair.
‘I’m very glad that you didn’t leave me (y/n).’

Wake up and look me in the eyes again
I need to feel your hand upon my face
It was a rare occasion when Hannibal couldn't sleep. He wasn't the kind of person to let daily life interfere with his dreams.
But he had been awake all night, unable to fall asleep. He felt guilty.
He was sure she was gone by now. She was probably at home, sleeping soundly. He sighed and got out of bed. It was no use lingering on the past, so he thought. He changed into a dress shirt and a vest, slightly more underdressed than usual. He was not in the mood to dress fully; he didn't have any plans anyway. He had decided that he would stay ho

Hannibal x Reader - Secrets
_____________ had always been a foreign sort of girl to Hannibal. She was beautiful and extraordinarily creative. Her perspective on things was quite refreshing to him. It wasn't the same, typical story you'd hear from someone who had gone mad.
But he knew she wasn't deranged. She was in fact quite rational, and brilliant. She was peculiar, perhaps, but not insane.
She rested in the velvety chair, running her hands along the waxy wooden arms. Her fingertips ghosted along the smooth carvings along the sides. She glanced around the library, looking at the various titles. The shelves were swathed in anatomy books, but occasionally there was a

Relationships (Hannibal X reader)
You knew him for a long time, too long perhaps, that's why you were one of the first people to see the changes in him, even the small ones.
"How did you know I'd be here?" Hannibal looked at you, not surprised as you thought he would be, his eyes darting between you and the man whose insides he was now holding.
"He was the last person to piss you off, and this is the road he walks –" you stopped for a second, "used to walk home," you stared at the corpse.
"You don't look scared," Hannibal said, his voice echoed above the sound of the rain and wind around the both of you.
"I'm not scared, we're only scared of things that catch us by surp
