Literature Text

You were in the bathroom, getting ready for bed when Sam and Dean came into the motel room. Their voices were louder than usual, so you stopped what you were doing to listen to them.

‘Dean, why don’t you just tell her?’ Sam asks.

‘Because I don’t want to be disappointed, you know what, maybe I should’ve just kept my mouth shut to you,’ Dean mumbled, clearly not happy. You frowned, you didn’t like it when Dean was unhappy.

‘Why won’t you tell her Dean?’ Sam asked, obviously confused. Something churned in your stomach, Dean was on about some girl, some girl that would never be you and that hurt.

‘What am I supposed to say Sammy? Oh hey, I love you, want to go out for dinner?’ Dean asked.

‘Well, yeah,’ Sam said.

‘She’d just say no, Sam. She thinks I’m some kind of womanizer,’ Dean said sadly.

You smiled fondly, it always made you laugh to watch Dean flirt, but it hurt when it worked on all these beautiful girls.

‘Dean, it’s (y/n), she’s not going to be horrible to you, what’s the worst that could happen?’ Sam asked gently. Your mouth opened in shock, you couldn’t believe that Dean was talking about you, there must be some mistake, you thought.

‘She could say no,’ Dean replied so quietly that you barely heard him. ‘I love her so much Sam, I don’t know what to do.’

You were in complete shock, but pulled yourself together so that when you went out of the bathroom, neither of them knew anything. You could see Dean looking at you and you felt self-conscious in your oversized t-shirt that was so big it was practically a dress.

It had been one of the boys’ once, you thought, but that was so long ago now. Sam smiled at you and you sat on the sofa, legs curled under you.

‘You alright (y/n)?’ Dean asked, getting up to go to the fridge.

‘I’m fine Dean,’ you told him with a smile.

‘Goddamn it, we’re out of beer. You two want anything?’ Dean asked you and Sam, but his gaze fixed on you.

‘Surprise me,’ you told Dean and he grinned at you. When he left you turned to Sam who was sitting by you, ‘maybe that was a bad idea.’

He laughed and the two of you sat for a few minutes watching terrible TV.

‘Sam?’ you say, nervously playing with the hem of your shirt.

‘Hmm?’ he replied, eyes fixed on the TV.

‘I heard you and Dean talking earlier, when I was in the bathroom,’ you say, not looking at him. You felt childish for being excited about this; Dean was never going to love you.

‘And what do you think?’ Sam asked, turning towards you.

‘I think that I probably heard him wrong,’ you said.

‘He loves you, I know my brother (y/n),’ he said with a smile.

‘I love him too Sam,’ you told him, looking up.

‘Then you should go and tell him that (y/n).’

You stood and then turned back to face Sam.

‘He really does love me, right?’

Sam nodded and you ran out of the motel room. You had lost all of your senses when Sam had told you it was true, so there you were outside in the freezing cold in the middle of the night, wearing nothing more than a shirt.

Dean was walking along, back to the room, with a shopping bag and he was humming something to himself. You ran towards him and he looked up when he heard you.

‘(y/n)?’ Dean asked a smile on the edge of his lips. You wrapped your arms around his shoulders and he dropped his bag to wrap his around your waist. He pulled you back so you had to look at him.

‘I heard you and Sam talking earlier and I told Sam and he told me that I should tell you that I love you too,’ you blurted out in one breath. Dean’s lips curved into a huge grin.

‘You love me?’ he asked, taking your breath away with that smile.

‘I love you,’ you told him.

Dean’s lips pressed to yours and he passionately kissed you.

‘I love you too,’ he said against your lips. You’re heart fluttered, but you couldn’t help but frown a little.

‘What’s wrong?’ he asked.

‘I just don’t get it, why me, I’m not like all the other girls that you’re with?’ You asked him.

‘You’re right you’re not, that’s why I love you and not them. You’re better than all those other girls (y/n),’ Dean said.

You nodded and smiled at him. He really loved you.

‘Let’s get you back inside, you’re freezing.’ Dean took your hand and grabbed the bag, leading you back inside the motel room. Sam was already asleep, sprawled out all over one of the beds.

Dean kissed your head and moved over to the fridge. You climbed into bed and soon enough Dean joined you.

He opened his arms and you rested your head on his chest, falling asleep quickly.
